Where have I been??
Good Morning!! I've been busy with 2 AWA Exhibitions and collecting Merchant Awards for the award winners! I attended a Ted Nuttall Workshop last Saturday and started a portrait of my husband's nephew and new wife...it is progressing on my art table as I type this blog!
All is well and I am busy working at Ahwatukee Endodontics - as we lost one back-office gal and now I get to work a little more in the back cleaning instruments and my own tasks!
I enjoy rushing home to paint on various subjects--as I have a lot on my art table! Wayne returned his 2 large acrylic paintings for an updated look; Mike and Navrina's portrait; and I am painting small (4"x6") for the upcoming Festival of Lights event after Thanksgiving!
I am looking forward to Thursday nights' AWA Meeting and Demo and Friday night's AWA 2010 Fall Membership Awards Ceremony up in Fountain Hills and I hope to see all my friends there, too!

New and improved art studio!
Hey!!
Good Morning,
I've been too busy to blog!!?? What?? Yep! We had 3 sisters visit 2 weekends in a row and now they have gone back to their homes! Fun!
I went to IKEA and purchased the new art table and my daughter and son-in-law helped me put it together--thank you! The table is displayed in IKEA's showroom right outside the restaurant and it is 2 bookshelves together - on the side - with a glass tabletop, drawers, and cubes on legs. It is heavy! So I've been busy redesigning my space! I, also, purchased a new easel from Jerry's Artarama for my reward for getting my painting into the AWA National Exhibition! So I am sharing my news with my friends and I hope you enjoy the pics...If you want to come over and paint with me - just call me!!! For Fun!! Enjoy your day!

News of the day!
Good Morning Tuesday,
I made the beds this morning and the dogs Charlie and Gizmo enjoyed the picture taking time - not know it was about the paintings and not them!! So there they are up on the wall!!
I have to work today at the office so I need to get going, but Carole Hillsbery uploaded her new http://www.wmaag.com/ Assignment #8 painting and you have to go see it!!!! So go to the web site and scroll down to Carole's page and click on her link to Assignment #8 and leave her a comment!
More news-- Sara (my oldest daughter) just created a new web site and I will post her link herehttp://web.me.com/sarchambo81/Saras_CupCakes/Welcome.html and she loves to bake cakes and cupcakes for events! if this link doesn't work, then go to my husband's web site at http://www.ahwendo.com/ and go to her page and click on her link!
I ordered a cupcake cake for the Riehm Family Reunion Party that everyone is invited to attend and meet Rich's sisters and mother for August 27!! I am hoping everyone in the Phoenix area comes over and sees my clean house for that one night!!!! After that it is back to the disaster that I love - full of happy cats and dogs and birds and all their messes!! I don't know if my art studio will be cleaned up....I have so many painting to work on...it's hard to put them all away!!
Anyways, that's my news, got to get to work!

"Cupcake Wrappers" 20"x30" and "Gouachie Pink and Blue Flowers" 20"x30"arrived back home framed and ready to hang in our bedroom -- but first I need to paint the wall - of course - more work!!
The wall looks great now - painted a warm white - and after we get a little breakfast in us - Rich and I are hanging the paintings, rearranging our bedroom furniture, replacing the ceiling fan, and then cleaning the carpet.
Where do they serve a great French Toast Breakfast?

Wet-into-Wet Painting morning
Today is a "Wet-into-Wet" morning and it sure was fun! After it dries I will create small flower images and may cut this sheet into 18 small paintings! We will see how brave I am at the end of the night!
The 4 small stamped flower painting that was on the table yesterday morning were gobbled up by adoring fans yesterday afternoon....my staff... so I started some more last night and hope they make it to First Fridays...!!
Today I'm having lunch with my brother, Gary (who recently retired from his teaching career) and Mom--I am showing Gary the process of checking Mom out of Sunrise and all the codes and alarm codes!! Poor Mommy - she needs a lot of help, but is so sweet and happy! Happy to break out of Sunrise anytime she can leave!
Tomorrow I take my "Ancient Purple Ruins" painting to ASU-West Fletcher Library for the AWA National Exhibition hanging and I'm so thrilled to be juried into this exhibition and it is a real honor to be in the national show...really!! I heard that the juror, Frank Webb, received around 775 painting images and he choose 75 paintings, so this is really big for me...for me it is my first national show! My painting will hang for 6 weeks and I would imagine a lot of people will get to see it at the library, so that is exciting, too!
I've been thinking about the www.wmaag.com art assignment and I will start it tonight! I'll get some photos of my ideas and post them soon!

a few more completed works
Happy
Wednesday!
I framed 2 small paintings last night and still have 11 small ones on the table and a 12"x12" paintings that I will attempt to mount onto an acrylic-embellished canvas and then varnish. My idea is to make my small watercolor paintings easy to hang without frames and glass. If i decide to sell at the Festival of Lights and/or First Fridays -- I want my small watercolor paintings to be easy to hang right when they get to their new home! Some collectors just don't get abstract -- so I will attempt to offer some embellished stamped artworks like the 4 flower artworks on my table.
I am going to attempt some small landscapes, too -- which I think will help incorporate the newest assignment on the http://www.wmaag.com/ site by using shapes and patterns (lights and darks) and paint a barn using one pigment each for my spiritual, physical and mental personality character of myself.
Any suggestions of "my" colors??

More completed - framed art works
Good morning world!
I matted and framed 5 small works of art last night! My table is getting cleared off and I have just a few left to finish and a few still to start.
I want to get busy starting the newest assignment from www.wmaag.com site, too----I'm working up to that big assignment!
I received an email yesterday about applying for the upcoming "Festival of Lights" event and if these small works of art sell - I just might sign up again for the event. Most people browsing the FOL last November bought small items - last minute Christmas gifts...so ---we will see my small paintings sell soon... though I have to decide by August 31st.

Day 5 working on more small works of art
Good morning! I survived the weekend painting session with good luck getting 20 small paintings completed and framed! I uploaded some to my Fine Art America website to offer as cards. While I was uploading them - someone from NY was viewing them at the same time!
My husband seems to think I should be cleaning the house...instead of painting... It's clean..the laundry and dishes are clean. The dogs, cats, and birds are fed and happy. What more does he want?? Does he think that painting is wasted time? He loves my artwork, but maybe doesn't appreciate the time it takes to produce--I guess.
We got a call from his sister and we are now expecting his 3 sisters and mother up for a weekend visit in two weeks.....That means I HAVE to start cleaning up my hidden messes.... as his sisters and Mother are immaculate housekeepers - not artists - and love to have every counter empty and that is not how this household runs!
So, do I stop painting and clean for the next 2 weeks for a weekend visit from his family? Yes! Say "Yes" as I know I have to.
It's hard to get in the mood for painting and stay there till you get some good results. But if I put the timer on for an hour every morning - I can get enough paintings wet and let them dry while I clean up the house for his family.
See ya later!!

3rd day working on small works of art!
Today is day 3 on the small works of art and I dreamed about them all night!! What am I going to do with them??? I could scan them and offer the images as cards on Fine Art America and then mount them on small canvases for a "Take-n-bake" quick artworks for sale at the First Fridays events..... I am signing the completed ones and will remove them from the table today. I did post a new assignment on the www.wmaag.com site - so I need to get going on the assignment.... so many art works in the "oven" and so little time to paint today as my husband is home wanting me to participate in his projects.... I might suggest a nap for him today to sneak some painting time in!!!

2nd day working on small works of art
Good morning! Wow, I had to clean up the table before I got started this morning. I taped down the papers with the dried backgrounds and started painting some new ones, too! I have begun adding fun and colorful effects on the small papers! I would image this project will keep me busy all weekend while the rain is in town....I should stay out of trouble then!
I did get some positive feedback on restarting the www.wmaag.com assignments as many members created wonderful paintings from the inspiring words of Betsy Dillard Stroud.
So who wants to pull the next 3 cards from their decks and send me the results.......?? I will post th new updated assignment!
